The first dafen international oil painting biennale Shenzhen

 Shenzhen, the pioneer city of the Reform and Opening-up, has created uncountable China's firsts, and Dafen Oil Painting Village is one of them. At present, Dafen has become the leading demonstration zone for the development of China's cultural industry, the representative foundation of Guangdong Province's art tribal cluster, one of the top ten characteristic cultural districts in Shenzhen. Under the development goals of national "The Belt and Road" and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Dafen continues to launch the new cultural brand "Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale, Shen Zhen".

The 1st Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale, Shenzhen 2018 (hereinafter referred to as Dafen Biennale) is an international and high-end exhibition that focuses on academic and artistic aspects. Dafen Biennale admires innovation and highlights personality in the style of selecting works, and looks forward to more innovative and excellent works. At the same time, a thematic invitational exhibition will be held to enhance the academic level of Dafen Biennale. We hope that through Dafen Biennale, Dafen will become a platform and window for the mutual understanding between China and the world, enhancing the artist exchange between the country and worldwide.

Theme Interpretation: Since implementing the policy of Opening-up, China has been closely connected with the world. With the Opening-up attitude, integrated with global regional culture, it deepens the thought and participation for this era of various countries and nations. And It achieves the diversity and multiplicity of cultures.

"Dafen Biennale, Shenzhen" is located in the special artistic holy land of Dafen, Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. This new exhibition brand will bring innovation and development of awareness for culture of each nation, and achieve the goals of "Harmonious Coexistence", "Multiple Integration" and "Mutual Winning".

By the end of the collection, 2651 artists and works from 65 countries and regions have involved in this exhibition. 264 works have been selected to be exhibited with 76 works from overseas countries, and 188 works from the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions of China.

The participating works of Dafen Biennale are expected to come from all over the world. The influential artists and their representative works will be selected from the participating countries.
